James Ramsay, 17th Earl of Dalhousie

James Hubert Ramsay, 17th Earl of Dalhousie, CStJ, DL ( born January 17, 1948), as Lord Ramsay 1950-1999, is a British investment banker since 2009 and Lord Steward of the Household.

Family

Ramsay comes from the Scottish Clan Ramsay and was born as the eldest son of Simon Ramsay and his wife Margaret Elizabeth Mary Stirling. Since October 3, 1973, he is with Marilyn Davina butter, the second daughter of the former Lord Lieutenant of Perthshire and Perth and Kinross, married, with whom he has a son and two daughters. The title of the Earl of Dalhousie, he inherited with his father's death in 1999.

Education and professional career

His school education was Ramsay at Ampleforth College, a private school in North Yorkshire. His military service, he served from 1968-1971 in the Coldstream Guards, and since his retirement from the army with the rank of lieutenant reservist. From 1981, he has held numerous leadership positions as an investment banker. He was, for example, from 1982 to 1987 Managing Director of Hambros Bank, now part of the Société Générale. 2003, Ramsay held the office of Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Angus. Social Commitment

Ramsay is involved in addition to his professional and activity in the House of Lords also for social projects. So he sat as president of the British Deer Society for the environment and as a member of the Mental Health Foundation for Health Education and is a member of an association to obtain the HMS Unicorn.
