Jamie Nieto

Jamie Nieto ( born November 2, 1976 in Seattle ) is an American high jumper.

He had his breakthrough in 2003, when he was U.S. champion and came in seventh place at the World Athletics Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis. The following year, he rose in the hall on February 11 in Weinheim to 2.32 m. In the U.S. elimination fights for the Olympic Games in Athens, he won with 2.33 m and then in the fourth Olympic competition with his personal best of 2.34 m.

In 2007 he was national runner-up, but failed at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka in qualifying. The following year he was again U.S. runner-up, but failed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing because he met the A- norm of 2.30 m after the deadline set by the Association.

2013 he finished his career as an athlete.

Jamie Nieto is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University.
