Jamil El Reedy

Jamil Omar Jamil El Reedy Abdulalem Hatem ( born October 22, 1965 in Cairo ) is a retired Egyptian skier.

El Reedy took 1984 as a single starter in part in so far only Egypt's participation in the Olympic Winter Games. The when it was launched 18 -year-old skier was living at the time of its launch in the U.S. town of Plattsburgh (New York). To prepare for his part in the Olympics, he spent his own words 40 days in a cave in the western Egyptian desert, where a traditional rite of passage to practice on which his father had also acts as his coach passed.

At the Olympic competitions in Sarajevo he walked in all three alpine competitions at the start. On the descent, he took over a minute adrift of second-bottom the last place in the giant slalom, he retired in the 1st heat from, Slalom, he could at least let the Cypriots Giannos pee behind.

After his sporting adventures to El Reedy turned to the study of physics. He graduated from Cairo University and a Bachelor's degree at Clarkson University's Master of Science degree as well as the degree of Ph.D. He subsequently specialized in the development of components of optical networks. He is the author or co- author of nine patents.
