Jan Bruins

Jan Bruins ( born May 27, 1940 in Deventer, The Netherlands, † 16 April 1997 ) was a Dutch motorcycle racer.

At age 16, he took over the workshop of his late father on the Zwolseweg. Later he founded a motorcycle shop with a workshop in the Gashavenstraat in Deventer.

In addition to the professional activity Jan Bruins was motorcycle racer. Initially successful in numerous national race in the Netherlands, he rose in the 1970 World Cup (50 cc class) on. His greatest achievement was the victory at the Grand Prix of Yugoslavia in Opatija on Kreidler 1972. During the following years he drove for, inter alia Jamathi. At the end of the 1975 season, he finished his World Cup career.

January Bruins died in April 1997 after a long illness at the age of 56 years.
