Jan Kromkamp

January Kromkamp ( born August 17, 1980 in Makkinga ) is a Dutch football player.

Career

Association

Kromkamp began in Apeldoorn at the club AGOVV playing football. His debut as a professional player, he was on 18 September 1998 in the jersey of Erstdivisionärs Go Ahead Eagles Deventer. There he was in his first season on the permanent employees and completed 28 games. From the 2000/01 season to the 2004/05 season he was in the squad of AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredivisie. There he was able to prevail and was among the top performers. In the season 2005/ 06 he moved to Villarreal in the Spanish Primera División, but was already transferred into the winter break in exchange for Josemi for Liverpool FC.

His debut in the Premier League was Kromkamp on 7 January 2006 at 5-3 against Luton Town in the FA Cup. In his position, he was up against Steve Finnan, but never was able to show off. At the 125th FA Cup final he won his first and only title with the Reds. At the last transfer before the season 2006/ 07 he moved back to the Netherlands for PSV Eindhoven. There he found his way back to its former strength and was able to win the championship in 2007 and 2008 with the Red and Whites. However, after multiple injuries he could coach Fred Rutten in the season 2009/ 10 is not convincing and was deported to the next season in the second team. His contract at PSV ran until the end of the season 2010/11. At the end of the season he moved to the Go Ahead Eagles.

National

On 18 August 2004 Kronkamp played in the friendly against Sweden 's first game in the Dutch national football team. In 2005 it was used four more times in the national team. Subsequently, the Dutch coach Marco van Basten nominated him in the 23-man squad for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
