Jan Linsen

Jan lenses (c. 1602/ 03 probably in Hoorn, † May 26, 1635 in Hoorn ) was a Dutch painter.

Rare Dutch painter of landscapes with predominantly mythological and religious decoration. Through its detailed background and education is not known. He was influenced among others by Bartholomeus Breenbergh, with whom he was also a close friend. More artistic models were Cornelis van Poelenbergh, Dirck van der Lisse and Paul Bril. Between 1624 and 1626 he was in Rome. In 1635 he died at age 33 at a Kneipenrauferei. By Jan lenses can be detected very few images.
