Jan Peeters

January Peeters [ pe ː jɑn. Tərs ] ( born January 12, 1963 in Herentals, Flanders) is a Belgian politician.

Political career

Peeters is a member of the Socialist Party Other ( sp.a ). He is also a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives and was from 1995 to 1999 Secretary of State of Belgium. In 1999 he was briefly Minister after the resignation Marcel Collas. In addition, since 2001 he is the mayor of his hometown of Herentals.
