Jan Reker

January Reker ( born June 3, 1948 in Eindhoven ) is a Dutch former football coach and current football official.

Career

Coaching career

During his active football career, managed Reker only in the youth department of FC Eindhoven. He never signed a professional contract.

His coaching career began at the age of 21, when he was a youth coach at Willem II Tilburg and two years later performed the same item at PSV Eindhoven. In 1977 he took over the assistant coach posts at the former Eredivisie VVV Venlo representatives. In January 1980 season Reker was re- committed from PSV, where he works as interim coach of the first team under a short time before he was replaced by Thijs Libregts which official successor of Kees was Rijvers. Three years later had Libregts go and Reker was finally head coach for the Red and Whites. " 1984 and 1985 he was runner-up, before the coach was in 1986 to win the fifth national championship. Soon after he took over VVV Venlo. With two fifth places in 1987 and 1988, he reached the club, the best result in the club's history. between 1988 and 1991 he moved to league rivals Reker, before he again in 1995 for one year the MVV Maastricht supervised.

Football functionary / President

After he turned away from the coaching career, Reker took over the chairmanship of the coaches Betaald Voetbal ( CBV ), an association for the protection of the rights of the coach, which he founded in 1990. On 1 July 2007 he returned to PSV Eindhoven and took the place of the President. He replaced Frits Schuitema. One of his first major tasks was to replace the failed Ronald Koeman in October 2008. Once there were two interim solutions with Jan Wouters and Sef Vergoossen, Reker presented to the 2009/10 season finally Huub Stevens as new head coach before. Previously Molded could win their first league title in Rekers term.
