Jan Schäfer

Jan Schäfer ( born October 18, 1974 in Dresden ) is a German canoeist.

Shepherd was 2000 silver medalist in the four-man kayak over 1000 m with Mark Zabel, Björn Bach and Stefan Ulm at the Olympic Games in Sydney. At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, he finished with Marco Herszel Rank 6 in the double kayak over 1000 m, and then ended his career.

At the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 Schäfer had participated as a substitute driver, but managed to repeatedly qualified for the national team. In the 1999 World Cup, he got together with Olaf Winter the bronze medal in the double kayak over 1000 m. At Euro 2000 in Poznań, he won two gold medals in the four-man kayak.

Shepherd scored his successes in canoe racing for KG food. Previously, he started for the TG Würzburg- Heidingsfeld and KS Kassel.
