Jan van Heelu

Jan van Heelu lived in the 13th century and was a poet, possibly from the former Duchy of Brabant.

He is known for his Rymkronyk, which he wrote about 1288 to 1294 for Margaret of England, daughter of Duke John I of Brabant, and wife of John II of Brabant. This includes a timely manner resulting description of the battle of Worringen. It is available in the version of Jan Frans Willems, were published in 1836 by M. Hayez, Brussels. Based on this edition of the text was created in 1988 for the first time transmitted by Frans W. Hellegers into High German and published in the name of freedom in the exhibition catalog.
