Jan Verhaas

January Verhaas ( born October 5, 1966 in Maassluis ) is a Dutch snooker referee.

Life

Verhaas since 1993 Snooker referee on the main tour. The first led by him playing at the professional level, the game Steve Davis vs. Tony Drago.

As the first non- British referee, he led a 2003 World Cup final, in which Ken Doherty and Mark J. Williams faced each other. In four other World Cup finals, he was then judge ( 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2013 ). Also in other big tournaments like the UK Championship (2005, 2006 and 2008 ) or the master ( a total of eight times, most recently in 2010 ), he led a final.
