Jandro (footballer)

Alejandro Fernández Castro (born 27 February 1979 in Mieres, Asturias ) is a Spanish footballer who plays in the Spanish Segunda División plays for Gimnàstic de Tarragona.

Playing career

The beginnings

Jandro comes from the youth of Valencia. He played four years for the B-team of the Levantine. In the 2001/2002 season he played for the first time for the first team of " Blancinegros ". After only three missions in the first year as a pro, he left the club in 2002 and signed a contract with first division side Celta Vigo Galicia. In the first contract year, however, he was loaned to second division Albacete Balompie. With Albacete midfielder reached promotion to the Primera División. With seven goals this season he was there for the first time attention.

Celta Vigo

In the summer of 2003 Jandro returned to Celta, where he played the next two years. First, he usually sat on the bench, but he still was in four Champions League - used games. By season's end the bitter descent was made, but Jandros best time at the Galicians broke now. In 38 games, he met twelve times and played a key role in the rise of his team. Among other things, he scored the winning goal on the last game away at UE Lleida. Despite the ordinary course Jandro left the club after the season.

The last years

In the summer of 2005 Jandro moved to Mitaufsteiger Deportivo Alavés. There he had a regular place in both the Premiership years, and after the descent. In the summer of 2007 he went to the Premiership relegation Gimnàstic de Tarragona.
