Jane Downs

Jane Downs ( born January 22, 1935 in Kent, England) is a British actress.

Life

Jane Downs was married in first marriage to actor Gerald Harper, with whom she has a daughter. In 1976 she married her colleague Terence Alexander.

Downs had her first appearance in the American television series Sword of Freedom in 1957 alongside Martin Benson and Edmund Purdom. Ever since she took over in many series and TV movies smaller and larger roles. 1965 appeared in the Oscar -winning film Downs Darling with on the side of Laurence Harvey and Julie Christie. She also starred in The Night to Remember and acquisition guest roles in series such as Z Cars alongside John Slater and Waiting for God alongside Sandra Payne and Daniel Hill. In 1982 she portrayed in a film adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby 's wife desselbigen. Most recently, she starred in the popular British series Midsomer Murders on the side of John Nettles and Jane Wymark.
