Jani Haapamäki

Jani Haapamäki ( born May 15, 1982 in Kauhajoki ) is a Finnish wrestler who starts in Greco-Roman wrestling ( category up to 55 kg ). 2009 Haapamäki became European Champion in Vilnius.

Career

In 2004 we launched Haapamäki first time was a senior. The Bantamgewichtler failed twice to clear the qualification for the Olympic Games in Athens. At the European Championships in the same year he finished in Haparanda surprising fifth place. The following tournaments but he took always have a place in the rear standings. Only in 2008 he was able to advance at the European Championships in Tampere 5th place back in the top ten. The qualification for the Olympic Games in 2008, however, he failed again. At the European Championships 2009 in Vilnius he managed after a victory over Bechan Mankijew from Russia reach the finals, where he defeated the Poles Mariusz lot on points. In the following time he could not retrieve it to this extent this achievement. At the 2009 World Championships in Herning, he was eighth, one year later in Moscow WM- seventh.

Haapamäki struggling since 2010 for the German Bundesliga club SV Germania Weingarten. Previously, he was responsible for the SV Siegfried Hallbergmoos at the start.

  • 2009 8th place World Championships in Herning, GR, up to 55 kg, after victories over Godertsi Dawitadse, Georgia and other Rönningen, Norway and a defeat against Choi Gyu -jin, South Korea
  • 2010, 7th place, World Cup in Moscow, GR, up to 55 kg, after beating Federico Manea, Italy, Ferhat Tekin, Turkey and Lasha Gogitadse and defeats against Hamid Soryan Reihanpour, Iran and Venelin Wenkow, Bulgaria
  • 2011 25th Place, WM in Istanbul, GR, up to 55 kg, after a defeat against Yun Won- chol, North Korea
  • 2013 24th Place, WM in Budapest, GR, up to 55 kg
