Janowo, Pyrzyce County

Janowo ( German Johannisberg ) is a dwelling-place in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland.

The living space is located in Eastern Pomerania, about 35 kilometers south-east of Szczecin, about nine kilometers northeast of Pyrzyce ( Pomerania ), about 600 meters from the south-eastern outskirts of the village of Stary Przylep (Alt Prilipp ) away.

In 1832 moved Johann David Schönfeldt, the owner of the Free Schulz Good Old Prilipp, his court out of the village and built himself a farm southeast of the village, which was named Johannisberg. Schönfeldt had added to his Freischulzengut bought more land.

In 1868, among Johannisberg also a windmill and a brick. To the Good Johannisberg then included 544 acres of land. By 1912 Johannisberg had 101 inhabitants.

Before 1945 Johannisberg belonged to the municipality of Old Prilipp and with this for Pomerania the Prussian province of Pomerania.

After the Second World War came Johannisberg, like all of Pomerania to Poland. It was the Polish place names Janowo. Today it belongs to the Gmina Warnice (Town Warnitz ) and with this the powiat Pyrzycki ( Pyritz circle) of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
