Janusz Kaczmarek

Janusz Kazimierz Kaczmarek ( born December 25, 1961 in Gdynia ) is a Polish lawyer and politician. 2005 to early 2007 he was Attorney General and February to August 2007 Polish Minister of the Interior.

Life

Kaczmarek was released on 8 August 2007 after seven months from the post of Minister of the Interior. The Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski threw Kaczmarek before, he had disturbed a secret action and thus prevents the Self-Defence leader and former Agriculture Minister Andrzej Lepper was convicted of corruption. A day after his Demissionierung let the prosecutor search his apartments and office space.

On 13 August 2007 he was proposed by LPR and Self-Defence as a candidate RP to the prime minister post he should get to a vote of no confidence against Jarosław Kaczyński. Janusz Kaczmarek agreed to his candidacy. On August 30, Kaczmarek was arrested at dawn at the home of director Sylwester Latkowski. Kaczmarek was charged with obstruction investigation and false statements. On August 31, he was released from prison. Kaczmarek had its part claimed that the government had let listen to friends and enemies systematically in recent months. The case against him is still ongoing but was divided on 11 March 2008 in two methods. The charge of false statement is processed by the prosecution Warsaw, Białystok, the prosecutor on the other hand deals with the accusation of official secret treason.
