Javier Marquez Moreno ( born May 11, 1986 in Barcelona), better known as Javi Márquez, is a Spanish footballer.

Club career

Espanyol Barcelona

Javi Márquez comes from the youth department of Espanyol, the second largest club of his Catalan home town. There he not only played in the youth teams but 2005-2009 División and for the second team of the gentlemen in the Segunda B. On September 19, 2009 debuted the midfielder for the first team as a 3-2 away win over Deportivo La Coruna he came on in the 64th minute for Ben Sahar. Marquez established himself afterwards in the first team and was a regular player. The 2009/10 season, however, should end prematurely for him because he incurred on 20 March 2010 a 2-0 home victory over Sevilla FC a broken leg. In La Liga he played with Espanyol always in the middle of the league.

RCD Mallorca

In July 2012, he signed a contract with the Premier League rivals RCD Mallorca while Sergio Tejera joined Espanyol in return. DC on the opening day of the season 2012/13 he met on his old club from Barcelona and was able to defeat him with his new team 2-1. Only a month later, he withdrew in the 2-0 home win over FC Valencia again an ankle fracture to that made him turn out for several months due to injury already in the past season.
