Ben Sahar (Hebrew: בן שׂהר; born August 10, 1989 in Cholon as בן סהר ) is an Israeli football player who since 2012 stands at Hertha BSC under contract, but is currently playing on loan at Arminia Bielefeld. He also has Polish citizenship due to the origin of his mother.

Club career

The striker, who was at the beginning of his professional career as one of the greatest talents of Israel, comes from the youth of Hapoel Tel Aviv. In 2006, Chelsea took Sahar after a two-month trial in his youth department. He quickly rose in the reserve team of London, where he was an integral part. His achievements were also José Mourinho, the former head coach of the first team, not hidden. He ordered Sahar frequently for the training of professionals. On January 13, 2007 Ben Sahar made ​​his debut in the Premier League. Against Wigan Athletic, he came on in the 82nd minute for Arjen Robben. However, he could not prevail in professional team.

For the first half of the season 2007/08, Sahar was on the Queens Park Rangers on loan at the start of the second half of the season 2007/ 08 for a month at Sheffield Wednesday and for the first half of the season 2008/09 at Portsmouth.

For the season 2009/10 he moved to RCD Espanyol, with whom he signed a four year contract. In the summer 2010, he was loaned for one season for a sum of € 80,000 to his former youth club Hapoel Tel Aviv.

For the 2012/13 season Sahar joined Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga 2. He signed with the capital club a two -year contract until 30 June 2014. His debut goal in the 2nd Bundesliga Sahar scored in a 6-1 against SV Sandhausen.

After playing in the 2013/14 season at Hertha virtually no role, he moved in January 2014 for half a year on loan to second division club Arminia Bielefeld.

National team career

On October 7, 2006 Sahar was against France his debut in the U-21 national team of Israel. On 7 February 2007, he was employed in a friendly game of senior national team of Israel against Ukraine. At 17 he was the youngest Israeli national player of all time, before he was replaced by Gai Assulin. On 28 March 2007, he was then a late substitute in the qualifier against Estonia and shot shortly afterwards by two goals to Israel for an 4-0 victory.
