Jay Cassidy

Jay Lash Cassidy ( born August 1949 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American editor.

Life

Jay Lash Cassidy grew up with his brother and his sister, the son of Elaine and Pierre R. Cassidy in Highland Park, Illinois on. He studied from 1967 to 1971 at the University of Michigan, where he worked as a Zeitungsfotorgaf at The Michigan Daily, and earned his bachelor's degree in American culture. Then he began to cut documentaries and political commercials for Charles Guggenheim. So he cut out for him, among other Jerusalem Lives and HR 6161: An Act of Congress. After 1976 he completed further studies at the American Film Institute 's Center for Advanced Film Studies, he cut in 1978 with the drama Almost Crying his first feature film.

Be the Cassidy in 1991 with The Indian Runner, the directorial debut of Sean Penn cut, he showed up for all the films directed Penn, responsible cutter. So he cut the drama Into the Wild, for that he received an Oscar nomination for Best Editing 2008.
