Jay Wilsey

Wilbert Jay Wilsey ( known as Buffalo Bill, Jr., born February 6, 1896 in St. Francisville, Missouri, † October 25, 1961 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Wilsey worked as a rodeo rider and Western shows, when he met the head of the production company Action Pictures. Lester F. Scott, Jr. signed him as an actor in silent film Western and gave him the screen name Buffalo Bill, Jr.. Artclass For the distribution companies and Pathé, he participated in around thirty films, besides also in two serials of Universal Pictures. He then played with in fifteen extremely inexpensive produced sound film strips, which are among the first ( and worst ) rotated with sound of their genre. He then worked under similar narrow financial terms for Denver Dixon.

Starting in 1934, Wilson moved to supporting roles; while he played, among others in four movies with John Wayne, with whom he remained friends until his death ( and in the Big Jim McLaine he played his last film role ). Later he was seen at Columbia Pictures for Bob Allen movies at PRC for some Lone Rider works and again at Columbia as a character actor in the Charles Starrett series. He often worked for the leading man on these occasions as a stunt double. In about sixty films of Tonzeitära Wilson can be identified.

After the end of his time as an actor, Wilson built a ship with his wife and spent a lot of time sailing.
