Jean-Baptiste Lepère

Jean -Baptiste Lepère ( born December 1, 1761 Paris, † July 16, 1844 in Paris) was a French architect. He was an old companion of Napoleon Bonaparte and father of the architect Jakob Ignaz Hittorff.

Life

In Empire Lepère was an architect of the locks Malmaison and St. Cloud. His most important work was the planning of the Church of St. Vincent- de -Paul in Paris, which was modified and completed by his son. He has also set up the Colonne Vendôme and the base of the statue of Henri IV on the Pont Neuf.
