Jean-Jacques de Mesmes

Jean -Jacques de Mesmes (* 1640 in Paris, † May 9, 1688 ) was an official of the royal administration, director of Soissons.

De Mesmes came from an old noble family from the Béarn; he was Comte of Arnaux, Viscount of Neufchatel- sur- Aisne and the lord of Moissy -Cramayel.

Between 1671 and 1684 functioned de Mesmes as master of ceremonies of the Order of the Holy Spirit ( Prévôt et maître de cérémonies ).

1676 elected to the Académie française de Mesmes the successor of the late Jean Desmarets de Saint -Sorlin ( armchair 4). He himself followed the cleric Jean de Testu Mauroy according to this place.

His son Jean -Antoine de Mesmes (1661-1723) was also later elected professionally and politically, his successor and to the Académie.
