Moissy -Cramayel is a municipality with 17,243 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in France. It is located near Paris in the Seine -et -Marne in the Île- de -France region. The residents of the community Moisséens call themselves.

History

Formerly called the city Moissy- l'Evesque. In 1643 the village was sold to the Lord of Cramayel ( Earl of Cramayel ) and took the name of Moissy -Cramayel. The term comes from the French word Moissy moisson for harvest. Currently, the city is part of the Ville nouvelle Sénart.
