Jean-Pierre Destrumelle

Jean -Pierre Destrumelle ( born January 2, 1941 in Cambrai, † 24 April 2002 Sartène ) was a French football player and coach.

Playing career

The age of eight Destrumelle was included in the youth department of FC Rouen, went through with this all vintages and ran in 1958 for France during the UEFA youth tournament. At the beginning of the season 1959/60 he was accepted with 18 years in the crew of the second division, but denied at a time were not possible as Substitutions, only a game. Yet he had thus in the rise, even if he did not come in the highest French class in this game in the following season for use. In the ongoing 1961 to 1962 season, however, he could gain first experiences in the first division, then became first-team regular and entered as such several times relegation fight, where he could always turn the case in the second division.

1966 signed the player in the previously ascended league rivals Olympique Marseille, with which he could clearly dissociate in the league of the relegation zone and also reached the entry into the national cup final in 1969. Thanks to a 2-0 success against Girondins Bordeaux succeeded Destrumelle in the final, in which he was summoned, the first title of his career. In addition, he played 1968-1970 a total of three matches at the European level. However, he had to accept after this success that he lost his place in the course of the season 1969/70.

The loss of his position in the starting eleven prompted the professional 1970 a change to the second division side Paris Saint- Germain, where he was put back on the team. In this way he succeeded in 1971 with the team's promotion to the excellence and announced at the same time end of his career. When the team had athletic difficult to fight after the climb, Destrumelle returned once for four games; Paris escaped athletic, but had to join the league in the third due to other failings. The then 32 -year-old Destrumelle announced after 259 first division with 26 goals and 27 second division games without a goal, the final end of his career.

Coaching career

Already in the 1971/72 season Destrumelle had taken over the responsibility as coach of the reserve team of Paris, while he returned by the way in professional football. After his second career end, he took over the winter break 1972/73 the first division relegation-threatened U.S. Valenciennes Anzin, but this could not save them from being second class. Despite everything, he retained his position as coach and led the club as such in 1975 in the top class back. After 1979 the descent only averted because the second division champions FC Gueugnon renounced the rise, he left Valenciennes and signed with similarly first-class SEC Bastia for the same items.

A year later he moved to Olympique Lyon, which he left out one years as well. After two years without employer he was in 1983 set the second division club AS Béziers, where he remained for a year. Then he coached an amateur club before he zürckkehrte 1989 with his signature at the U.S. Orléans in the second division. In 1991, he retired from professional football and went to Corsica, where he devoted himself to the training of young players, until he died in 2002 at age 61.
