Jean-Yves Rey

Jean -Yves Rey (born 24 November 1970 at Sierre ) is a Swiss ski mountaineer, mountain and marathon runner

Rey began in 1990 with the ski mountaineering, took part in the same year at the small price of the Patrouille des Glaciers and since 1999 a member of the Swiss national ski mountaineering.

Ski mountaineering

  • 2003: 6th place at the European Championship Ski Mountaineering Team with Jean -Daniel Masserey
  • 2004: 2nd place in the Patrouille des Glaciers with Pierre -Marie and Jean- Daniel Taramarcaz Masserey
  • 4th place at the World Cup ski mountaineering team with Sébastien Epiney
  • 9th place at the World Championship vertical race
  • 2005: 2nd place at the European Championship relay race with Alexander Hug, Christian Pittex and Yannick Ecoeur
  • 7th, European Championship Single
  • 7th place at the European Championship Ski Mountaineering Team with Jean -Daniel Masserey

Running

In 2004 he won the Zermatt Marathon. He won three times in succession the Alps Marathon since 2005 and holds the course record of 3:07:18 hours with men.
