Jeanne Cooper
Wilma Jeanne Cooper ( born October 25, 1928 in Taft, California, † May 8, 2013 in Los Angeles ) was an American actress.
Life and career
The film career of Jeanne Cooper began in the 1950s, their first major role was in 1953 in Myra fire head of Wyoming. She starred in another western, before it developed from the 1960s to the television series actress.
Widely known Cooper was then carried her portrayal of Katherine Chancellor on the soap opera Young and the Restless. At times, she also played her own doppelganger margin Cotrooke. Cooper was not in the first episodes of the television series started in March 1973 and there, but in November of the first year she made her debut in the series. It was thus longer than any other actor on the show. She was awarded for her life's work in 2004 Daytime Emmy Award. For her work she received on August 20, 1993 a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame ( Television category ). In 2008, she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Jeanne Cooper was married from 1954 to 1977 with the television producer Harry Bernsen, and they were parents of three children, the actors Corbin, Collin and Caren Bernsen. Even after the divorce, they remained good friends until Harry Bernsens death in 2008.
She died in May 2013 after months of illness.
