Jeanne d'Albret

Jeanne III. of Navarre, Jeanne d' Albret better known as ( born January 7, 1528 Pau, Aquitaine, France, † June 9, 1572 in Paris), was from 1555 to 1572 Countess of Rodez and Queen of Navarre.

Life

She was the daughter of Henry II (1503-1555), called Henri d' Albret, King of Navarre (1517-1555), and of Margaret of Angoulême, sister of the French king Francis I.

She married in 1541 William V, Duke of Jülich -Cleves -Berg. The marriage was not consummated and canceled five years later.
