Jeetendra

Jeetendra ( born April 7, 1942 in Mumbai, real name Ravi Kapoor ) is an Indian film actor and film producer. He was together with Rajesh Khanna in the pre- Bachchan era of the early 1970s the most sought after actors of the Hindi film.

Biography

Jeetendra began his career in 1959 with small appearances in films V. Shantarams. Its activity increased in the 1970s, the romantic comedies with Mumtaz were box office hits and his dances legendary. Among his most important films Parichay (1972 ) - Gulzar's adaptation of the classic musical The Sound of Music (1965 ) Dharam Veer ( 1977) by Manmohan Desai and Himmatwala (1983 ) by K. Raghavendra Rao. In the 1980s, Jeetendra has held numerous financially successful, but artistically poor assembly line productions with South Indian actors. He often came here at the side of Sridevi and played under the direction of K. Dasari Narayana Rao or Bapaiah.

For his performances so far in more than 200 films, he was honored in 2003 with a Filmfare Award for his life's work.

Family

Jeetendra is married to actress and film producer Shobha Kapoor at the same time and has two children with her. He is the father of Tusshar Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. Tusshar is like his father, actor and film producer Ekta is how the mother.
