Jeff Skiba

Jeffrey Skiba (born 28 April 1984) is an American track and field athlete.

Life and career

Due to a lack of fibula Skiba was amputated at the age of 10 months, the left leg below the knee.

At the age of 11 he began in high school with athletics. There he could in particular in the high jump competitions successfully quit often. Supported by a high quality foot prosthesis, he jumped 1.88 meters at an early stage.

With unofficially skipped 2.15 meters Jeff Skiba currently holds the high jump world record in the category F44. In addition to his special discipline high jump Skiba is still in the disciplines of 100 meters, 200 meters, long jump and pentathlon active.

In 2007, Jeff Skiba so far the only " amputated " Athletes at the U.S. national track and field championships. Currently he lives and trains in Chula Vista, California.
