Jeffrey Sarpong

Jeffrey Sarpong ( born August 3, 1988 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch football player with Ghanaian roots. Since the summer of 2013, the midfielder is the pro squad of NAC Breda.

Career

Association

Sarpong played for FC Abcoude before he came to the youth department of Ajax Amsterdam in 1996. For 2005/ 06 the young player was appointed to the senior squad of the club. His debut finally gave on 5 January 2006 in a 3-2 away win against Feyenoord Rotterdam. In the course of the season he came to eight other stakes. At the end of his first professional season, he celebrated his first national success by winning the KNVB Cup. In the following year it was less good for the winger and he made it under coach Henk ten Cate at no league use. Only since Marco van Basten new coach of Amsterdam is Sarpong comes back to regular inserts in dress from Ajax. On 21 September 2008 he scored his first goal against Feyenoord game duties.

National

Sarpong played during the U -17 World Cup in Peru in 2005 for the U -17 team at the KNVB. In all six games of his team, he came here used and led the team with it to the semifinals, where they lost 4-0 against the Mexican selection. By a 2-1 win against Turkey, the team secured the third place. During the tournament Sarpong scored two goals. A year later, he played with the Dutch U20 at Toulon Tournament, in which they reached the final, but had to admit defeat to hosts France with 3:5 after penalty. Sarpong was there first shooter and his team transformed. In 2009 he was re-appointed to the squad for the tournament of the U21 Toulon.
