Jehoahaz of Judah

Jehoahaz (Hebrew יהואחז ) (c. 631, year of death unknown) was king of Judah, the son and successor of King Josiah.

It was in the year 609 BC, when he came to the throne, 23 years old. However, he held office only three months, as he was then deposed by the Egyptian Pharaoh Necho II and initially detained in Riblah. He was later deported to Egypt, where he died. The kingdom of Judah ordered the Egyptian Pharaoh, a fine on (100 talents of silver and one talent of gold ). As the successor to certain Necho the older brother of Jehoahaz, Eliakim, whose name he change LUT 23:34 Jehoiakim was after 2 Kings.

Jehoahaz is biblical in 2 Kings 23.31 f.LUT, 2 Chronicles 36.1 - 4LUT and Jeremiah 22:11 LUT (where he is called Shallum ) mentioned.
