Jemaine Clement

Jemaine Clement (born 10 January 1974) is a New Zealand musician, actor, director, producer, comedian and author.

Background

Clement describes himself as "half Maori, half- European," he spent his formative years in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand.

Clement is known as one of the two members of the comedy band Flight of the Conchords. This he made on the Victoria University along with Bret McKenzie. The band was on international tours and released four CDs: Folk the World Tour (2002), The Distant Future EP ( 2007), Flight of the Conchords (2008) and I Told You I Was Freaky ( 2009).

From 2007 to 2009 Clement was seen as the lead in the HBO comedy series Flight of the Conchords, which describes the fictional life of the New Zealand folk duo in New York. As an actor, writer and singer, he was subsequently honored with four Emmy nominations.
