Jenny Beavan

Jenny Beavan (* 1950 in London, England) is a British costume designer.

Life

Beavan began her film career in 1978 as a costume designer for James Ivory in India turned television film The Great hustle to Georgie and Bonnie's Pictures. Ivory then it undertook for his other films Europeans, Jane Austen in Manhattan and The Bostonians. For the latter, Beavan was nominated for the BAFTA Award and an Oscar. For their next joint feature film, Rooms with view, it was in 1987 awarded the Oscar; more Oscar nominations she received for the common films Maurice, Howards End and What Remains of the Day. Jefferson in Paris in 1995 was their last film together so far.

Other Oscar nominations she received for Ang Lee's film adaptation Sense and Sensibility, Anna and the King, Robert Altman's Gosford Park and the British historical drama The King's Speech. Her other awards in addition to numerous nominations each include an Emmy, a Saturn Award and a BAFTA Award.
