Jens Woehrmann

Jens Wöhrmann ( born September 8, 1967 in Siegen) is a former German tennis player.

Life

Wöhrmann, whose father Helmut Wöhrmann was at right-back part of the successful football team in the 1960s VfL Klafeld - Geisweid, grew up in the district of Siegen Geisweid and made the Weidenauer Prince Johann Moritz College graduated from high school.

Career

Wöhrmann played from 1988 on ATP -satellite tournaments that were located below the ATP Challenger Tour. The following year he reached the finals of the Challenger tournament in Montabaur and received for the tournament in Stuttgart Weißenhof a wildcard. There he came through, among other victories for Jacob Hlasek and Guillermo Perez- Roldan to the semifinals, where he lost to the eventual champions Martín Jaite. Wöhrmann 1989 was the most successful year when he reached his best listing on the ATP World Tour and 7th place in the DTB - ranking position with 54. In 1990 he was part of the Davis Cup team that had to play against Argentina in the quarter-finals in Buenos Aires. In the 2:3 defeat Wöhrmann lost his singles match against Alberto Mancini. In the Bundesliga he played tennis together with Karsten Braasch and Mark Naewie with great success for Red-White Hagen.

After his career end Wöhrmann worked as a trainer, among other things Anke Huber and the German Fed Cup team. Today he is head coach of Westphalia Tennis Association.
