Jerry Martin (composer)

Jerry Martin is a jazz and New Age composer and is primarily known for his work in the field of video games. So he created the soundtracks of the game series The Sims and SimCity.

Biography

Jerry Martin received since the age of ten music lessons and played in various ensembles at the high school and college guitar and keyboard. He graduated from California State University in Hayward (California ) joined Martin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Composition.

After that, he began postgraduate studies at the Center For Contemporary Music of the Mills College in Oakland ( California ), where he made a Master of Fine Arts. In 1985 he founded his own production company Musicontrol with which he composed 1985-1995 music for different purposes ( video games, television and radio advertising) and produced. As of 1996, Martin was as Studio Audio Director and Lead Composer at Maxis, now part of Electronic Arts, employed. From 1996 to 2004 he produced in this context also the soundtrack of the successful game series The Sims and SimCity.

In 2005, Martin founded a new company, Jerry Martin Music, with whom he currently performs various professional and private music projects.
