Jerry McCain

Jerry " Boogie" McCain ( born June 18, 1930 in Gadsden, Alabama, † March 28, 2012 ) was an American blues musician on harmonica.

Life

Jerry McCain was born in 1930 as the youngest of five children in Gadsden, Alabama and began with five years playing the harmonica. In 1953, he heard his idol Little Walter, when he and his Aces occurred in Gadsden. According to various versions of the story Little Walter has made him with producer Lillian McMurray of Diamond Records known or inspired him to his first song for Diamond Records. His first single he took in 1953 for Trumpet Records on. Until the 1970s he regularly drives on, but left him the big break failed.
