Jerry Unser, Jr.

Our Jerry (* November 15, 1932 in Colorado Springs, Colorado; † 17 May 1959 Indianapolis, Indiana) was an American race car driver.

1957 won the USAC stock car championship.

Our Jerry was the first of our family, who took part in the Indianapolis 500. In his only start in 1958, he was implicated along with twelve other vehicles in a pileup in the first round. He flew over the wall in the third corner, but was not injured. In the pile- Pat O'Connor died.

On May 2, 1959 Our had an accident on a training run for the 500 - mile race at Indianapolis and died on May 17 at the burn injuries he incurred in the process.

He was the older brother of Bobby and Al Unser, and father of Johnny 's Prayer.
