Jes Høgh

Jes Høgh ( born May 7, 1966 in Aalborg, Denmark ) is a former Danish football player.

Life

Høgh played in the youth of Aalborg Chang, before moving in 1987 to Aalborg BK in the first Danish league. Here he quickly became a regular in the center of defense of the team. With strong performances he made Brøndby IF attention to himself, and so he moved in 1991 to the Master. Here he formed with Marc Rieper a strong duo. Høgh was elected to Bröndbys Player of the Year in 1993. After many injuries, he lost his place in 1994 and returned back to Aalborg.

Here he could find his old form and the team was founded in 1995 Master of the SAS League. He moved in the summer to Fenerbahce in Turkey; even here he was in the first year masters. In 1999 he went to England to Chelsea, but was only a substitute for Marcel Desailly and Frank Leboeuf. 2001 ended a serious knee injury of his career.

National

His debut for Denmark he gave in 1991, but his breakthrough came later, when he made the defense with Marc Rieper. Høgh participated in the Euro 1996, Euro 2000 and at the World Cup 1998. His only international success is to win the King Fahd Cup 1995. He completed 57 games, 1 goal.
