Jes Holtsø

Jes Holtsø ( born December 30, 1956 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish actor and blues singer. He is best known for his role as Børge in the Olsen Gang films.

Life

Holtsø in 1968 discovered film at a Copenhagen school of casting director of the company Nordisk and then cast by director Erik Balling as an actor for the first Olsenbande film. From now on, he played the role of Børge to 1976 in all the films of the series, he was also to see from 1970 when William Olsen in the much mitgeprägten Balling television series Oh these tenants. Both roles he owes his popularity in Denmark. He also starred in the 1969 film Stine og drengene.

Besides his work as a performer, he was involved in two movies as props assistant: 1976 The Olsen Gang Sees Red and 1977 flings i Mølleby.

In 1977 he left Nordisk Film because of its allegedly low content and kept hidden from the public from now on. His role therefore had from the screenplay to The Olsen Gang beats will written out again, and but two shorter appearances - 1979 The Olsen Gang never and again in 1998 resulting in the (really) very last stroke of the Olsen Gang - he no longer stood since as an actor front of a camera, the short film except Liden tid 2003, where he appeared again as Børge.

Holtsø has long been alcohol-and drug -dependent, after more than ten years he succeeded in the early 1990s the exit. Later he worked in a drug counseling center. He also plays in his Jes- Holtsø Band keyboard and harmonica. He is married and has two children.

In 2009, he ventured a comeback in the DR- TV show Talent 09, the Danish adaptation of Britain's Got Talent and Got Talent. As a blues singer he reached the final, which took place on 23 October, he could but could not be placed among the top three. On 26 April 2010 he published with Morten Wittrock band that had accompanied him during the TV show, on their own label Music Crawfish his first blues album in Denmark. After the release of their second album Big Easy on May 14, 2012, he was honored at the Copenhagen Blues Festival in September of the same year with the award Årets Danske Blues Navn ( " Danish Blue Name of the Year" ). On May 11, 2013 gave Holtsø and Morten Wittrock Band on the festival Nordic sound in Greifswald their first concert in Germany.
