Band History

2001 Godflesh co-founder Justin K. Broadrick 2001 began his new project of Jesus, which was initially conceived as a solo work. In 2002 the band Godflesh was dissolved.

The first release Heart Ache (2004), a two- song, 40-minute EP, was written by him accordingly it alone and recorded. The published end of 2004 debut album Jesus was meanwhile already in cooperation with the earlier musical companions Diarmuid Dalton and Ted Parsons. Technically sound, although following on from his previous band, Broadrick emphasis on Jesus reinforces the slow, spherically - sluggish elements of the original for Godflesh characteristic sounds, while the aggressive elements into the background. The compositions are usually based on complex, repetitive guitar and bass lines that start the listener through the additional use of reverb and Verzerreffekten gradually formally wrap. The influence of shoegaze was stronger from publication to publication.

The texts Broad Ricks treat in abstracting way priority conflicts that revolve around issues such as failure, guilt, disappointment, hope, love, etc.. Frequently it comes to the definition of the behavior or perception of an individual in relation to the expectations and requirements of partners, institutions or social norms.
