Jesús Humberto Velázquez Garay

Jesús Velázquez Humberto Garay ( born May 16, 1940 in Culiacan, † June 22, 2013 ) was Bishop of Celaya.

Life

Jesús Velázquez Humberto Garay received on 12 March 1964, the ordination of the Diocese of Culiacán.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on February 10, 1983 in Culiacan and Titular Bishop of Belesasa. The Apostolic Delegate in Mexico, Girolamo Prigione, donated to him on the 4th of May of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Luis Rojas Mena were co-consecrators, Bishop of Culiacán, and Alfonso Humberto Cota Robles, Bishop of Tepic.

On April 28, 1988, he was appointed Bishop of Celaya. On 26 July 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation on health grounds.
