Jeunesse Esch

Jeunesse Esch ( officially: Association Sportive la Jeunesse d' Esch / Alzette ) is a Luxembourgian football club from Esch-sur- Alzette.

The association is with 28 league titles record champion of Luxembourg. For the first time we won the championship in 1921, most recently in 2010. Luxembourg The Cup was won by the club so far 13 times.

The club was founded in 1907 as la Jeunesse d' Esch Frontières. In 1918, the club its current name. Between 1939 and 1944, the SV Black and White was 07 Esch.

In the years 1941 to 1944 the club played in the Gauliga Moselle and was in the 1943/44 season Season winner. Participation in the German finals they missed, however, as they lost to the winner of Season east, TuS Neuendorf, after a 4-1 first leg victory in the second leg 0-8.

The biggest international successes reach the European Cup of Champions in 1959 with a 5:0 in the first preliminary round match against LKS Lodz and on September 19 in 1973 with a 1-1 home draw in the first round against Liverpool, the reigning English champions and UEFA Cup winners; the return game lost Esch 0-2.

Youth

For years, the Luxembourg giants relies on the youth. This is confirmed by the low average age in the first team. The youth teams are in their respective ages of the best teams in Luxembourg. Something more experienced players but missing the first team. The Scolaire players of the 2006/07 season it was possible for the first time in the history of the Jeunesse Esch to get the double.

Stadium

The stadium " Op border ", which was built in 1920, is considered one of the most beautiful and most visited stadiums Luxembourg and holds 5,400 spectators.

Near the stadium are three different training courses for youth teams and for the first team.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the club, a documentary on the history of the traditional clubs has been realized and has a duration of 52 minutes. Director of this film is Julie Schroell.
