Jewell James Ebers

Jewell James Ebers ( born November 25, 1921 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, † March 1959 ) was an American electrical engineer.

Ebers studied at Antioch College with a bachelor 's degree in 1946 (before he was three years in the U.S. Army ) and electrical engineering at the Ohio State University with a master's degree in 1947 and his doctorate 1950. He was there in 1951 and was an Assistant Professor in the same year at the Bell Laboratories. Most recently, he was director of the Allentown Laboratories of Bell.

He is known for the Ebers - Moll equations and the Ebers - Moll transistor model. They are named after John Lewis also minor.

The IEEE Electron Devices Society award in his honor the JJ Ebers Award.
