Jim Rohn

Jim Rohn ( born September 17, 1930 as Emanuel James Rohn in Yakima, Washington; † December 5, 2009 in West Hills, California ) was an American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker.

Life

Emanuel James "Jim" Rohn was born in Yakima (Washington ), the son of Emanuel and Clara Rohn. His family owned a farm in Idaho where Jim grew up as an only child.

After graduating from high school Rohn went to college, but left after one and a half years and began working as a clerk for Sears. After coaxing of a friend he attended a lecture by John Earl Shoaff, an entrepreneur and motivational speaker who greatly impressed with his wealth, charisma, and his philosophy of life Rohn and greatly influenced his later resume. Shoaff was then Vice President of the dietary supplement manufacturer AbundaVita. In October, 1955, Rohn AbundaVita joined and began to work on his personal development. His mentor Shoaff, who asked him to become a millionaire in five years, died a year before Rohn at age 31 actually became a millionaire.

Jim Rohn died on 5 December 2009 in West Hills, California on lung fibrosis.

Career

Rohn finished his high school as vintage third best of 140 students. His subsequent college studies, he broke off after one and half years to look for a job. At 25, he worked for $ 57 a week as a warehouse worker, when he was invited by a friend to a lecture by the industrialist John Earl Shoaff. Shoaffs services and whose charisma, prosperity and life philosophy impressed Rohn. In October 1955 he has been a distributor of the dietary supplement manufacturer AbundaVita, for the Shoaff also worked. As Shoaff 1957 left the company and founded Nutri -Bio, also Rohn joined Nutri -Bio was founded in 1960 and Deputy Chief Executive. With 31 years he was thus already a millionaire.

Following the bankruptcy of Nutri -Bio early 1960s Rohn almost lost his entire fortune of $ 2.3 million and his houses and cars.

Rohn was invited by a friend to present his rags - to-riches story in the local Rotary Club of Beverly Hills. He participated in and gave his lecture Idaho Farm Boy Makes It To Beverly Hills. Its fascinating history and its simple philosophy of life quickly brought him many invitations from schools and different companies. In 1963 he gave his first public seminar at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

In 1966 his former Nutri -Bio colleague William E. Bailey, the company Bestline Products, Rohn hired for national recruitment and training of new staff, and paid him for half a million dollars. In the 1970s, Rohn conducted seminars for marketing executives at Standard Oil of California. He also headed in that time the company Adventures in Achievement with seminars and workshops for the training of personal development.

Rohn worked for more than 40 years worldwide in this position as a motivational speaker and coach and had a decisive influence on the development of motivational training and motivational coaching. Many well-known motivational speakers and authors such as Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy, T. Harv Eker, Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield, acknowledge the influence of Rohn's work on their careers.

For his speech performances in 1985 he was awarded the CPAE Award from the National Speakers Association.
