Jimmy Bower

Jimmy Bower ( born September 19, 1968), actually James Bower, is an American metal and Sludge guitarist, drummer and songwriter, who has played in many well-known bands, including EyeHateGod, Crowbar, Down, and Superjoint Ritual. Bower was also referred to as the "Godfather of Southern Metal", as he helped to shape the metal and hardcore scene of New Orleans as a founding member of three groups. He also worked as a producer, as for My Uncle the Wolf.

Career

Jimmy Bower founded in 1988 as a guitarist with EyeHateGod, 1989, the band Crowbar as their drummer, but he left again in 1990 to work for EyeHateGod. In 1995 he founded with Down and played their first album NOLA on drums with a. 1996 to 1998 he was once again working for Crowbar, but focused initially then back on EyeHateGod. However, he later dealt with additional projects. In 2001 he played live for Corrosion of Conformity, again in 2002 for Down and for Superjoint Ritual.
