João Domingos Pinto

João Domingos Silva Pinto ( born November 21, 1961 in Vila Nova de Gaia ) is a former Portuguese football player.

Life and career

Pinto began and ended his career with the same club. He started in 1981 and ended his career in 1997. During this time he won with FC Porto eight Portuguese league titles, four Portuguese Cup and eight Portuguese Supercup. He won in 1987 against CA Peñarol and the Intercontinental Cup in the same year the European Champions Cup. In national champion finals 1987, he was captain of the team from Porto when they won against Bayern Munich 2-1. Furthermore, he was able to win the European Super Cup in 1987.

Internationally, he played 70 times for Portugal, scoring once. He participated in the European Football Championship 1984 in France part ( four inserts), where Portugal was eliminated in the semifinals. With the Football World Cup 1986 in Mexico Pinto also participated, Portugal difference in the group stage.
