Joaquín Beltrán

Joaquín Beltrán ( born April 29, 1977 in Mexico City) is a former Mexican football player at the position of the defender.

Life

Association

Beltrán won his first professional contract in 1997 with his hometown club Club Universidad Nacional, in which he stood up to the end of the 2005/06 season under contract and with which he witnessed in 2004 the most successful year of his career. In that year he won with Pumas both championships, both the Clausura 2004 and Apertura 2004, the Mexican Super Cup and the prestigious Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu.

In summer 2006, he moved to Club Necaxa, but returned already back after a season in his hometown, where he stood in the following two years at Cruz Azul under contract. He ended his active career in the end of 2010 rows of Gallos Blancos de Querétaro.

National

His debut in the dress of the Mexican national team celebrated Beltrán on 13 March 1999 in a 2-1 victory against arch-rivals USA. Until the match against England ( 0:4 ) on 26 May 2001 in which he was a mid-term long used, he completed a total of eleven international appearances before a nearly six-year international break began. In 2007 he came to two other international duty: on February 28 against Venezuela ( 3-1 ), he was called up for the full distance, on March 28 against Ecuador (4-2 ) he was substituted just before the end of Jonny Magallon.
