Job, Puy-de-Dôme

Job is a commune with 1061 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Puy -de- Dôme in the Auvergne region. It belongs administratively to the district of the same name Ambert and Ambert Canton.

Geography

The community is located about 50 kilometers southeast of Clermont- Ferrand and 25 kilometers west of Montbrison in the Regional Natural Park Livradois -Forez, on the border with neighboring Loire department in the region Rhône -Alpes.

Neighboring communities of job are:

  • Vertolaye and Saint- Pierre- la- Bourlhonne in the north,
  • Sauvain in the northeast ( Loire )
  • Valcivières in the southeast,
  • La Forie in the south,
  • Ambert in the southwest and
  • Bertignat in the West.

The municipality is located on the western flank of the mountain range Monts du Forez. On the summit ridge Pierre sur Haute is (1631 m) with the military radio station Pierre sur Haute. On the heights of the Monts du Forez arise many small streams that are all from the River Dore, which runs along the western boundary of the municipality, collected and drained by Allier and Loire.

Transport links

On the western boundary of the municipality, the department D906 road runs parallel to the river Dore ( from Vichy to Le Puy -en -Velay ) in a north / south direction. The municipal seat of job is connected by the D66 and D67 roads department with the primary road network.

Also in the valley of the Dore is a railway line, on the tourist train Ligne Touristique du Livradois -Forez is operated today.
