Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten is a documentary by Julien Temple, published in 2007 about Joe Strummer, the lead singer of the English punk rock group The Clash.
The film premiered on 20 January 2007 premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and was shown at the Dublin Film Festival on 24 February 2007.
Reviews
The film was well received by the critics in general. On 3 November 2007, the film received on the movie review website Rotten Tomatoes, based on 25 reviews, to 84% positive reviews. On Metacritic, the film received an average rating of 77 points out of 100, based on 11 reviews.
Marc Savlov of The Austin Chronicle called the film the eight best film of 2007. Stephanie Zacharek of Salon.com called him the ninth best film of 2007.
