Joey Crabb

Joseph " Joey " Crabb ( born April 3, 1983 in Anchorage, Alaska ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since July 2013 with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Joey Crabb began his career as a hockey player with the Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League, for whom he played in the 2001/ 02 season. He was then selected as the 226th player overall in the seventh round by the New York Rangers in the NHL Entry Draft in 2002. However, the next four years Crabb played for the Hockey Team of the Colorado College. He subsequently received a contract with the Atlanta Thrashers, as he had received from the Rangers no contract and thus was regarded as a free agent. In the organization of the Thrashers played in his first two years there, but only for their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Chicago Wolves, with whom he won the 2008 Calder Cup.

On 21 November 2008 Crabb was recalled as a replacement for Todd White of the Thrashers, but since this could play faster than expected again, Crabb was removed again from the squad. On December 10, 2008 game against the New York Rangers, he scored his first NHL goal. In the course of the season Crabb came to 29 inserts for the Atlanta Thrashers and scored nine points. The following season he played, however, again exclusively for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL and was with 53 points from 79 games one of the best scorer of the team in the regular season. In June 2010, he was released in a swap deal to the Chicago Blackhawks. About three weeks later, he signed as a free agent contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In July 2013 he signed a two -year contract with the Florida Panthers.
